Today, a Saudi official, who requested anonymity, confirmed the information to the Associated Press agency, and Ukraine’s presidential chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, added that the negotiations would be held in Saudi Arabia, although he did not mention the city of Jeddah as a location. .
Officially, however, Saudi Arabia has not confirmed the existence of this summit.
“The Ukrainian Peace Formula contains 10 fundamental points, the implementation of which will not only guarantee peace for Ukraine, but also create mechanisms to face future conflicts in the world,” Yermak said in a statement.
Other peace plans have been experimented with since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February last year.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has just met African leaders in St. Petersburg to discuss his own plan.
China and Pope Francis have also been working separately to seek peace solutions that would be welcomed by Kiev and Moscow.
Countries like Ukraine, Brazil, India, South Africa, among others, will participate in the Saudi Arabian summit, according to the Saudi source, who requested anonymity.
Western diplomats quoted by The Wall Street Journal consider that the choice of Saudi Arabia to host the meeting seeks, above all, to favor the participation of China, which maintains good relations with Moscow and has been a privileged partner of Riyadh.
