After having excelled on television, in the favorite show for lovers of History and old objects, Affaire Conclue, Julien Cohen is launching a new challenge: opening his own restaurant. It was on a mythical place in Avallon in Yonne that he chose, certainly to honor his reputation as a treasure finder. Attention lovers of beautiful stones and good cuisine, here we have a little nugget in the making!
Founded in 1707, the Hostellerie de la Poste was once a renowned establishment which saw the succession of big names such as those of Napoléon Bonaparte, Serge Gainsbourg and Liz Taylor. Although it was acclaimed for the prestige of its rooms and the quality of the dishes offered in its restaurant, which had even earned 3 stars in the Michelin guide, this charming hotel closed its doors in 2016. Since then, no one had really come forward to restore the reputation of the Hostellerie de la Poste… until the arrival of a providential entrepreneur. A lover of old stones with a well-known name…
If you are a fan of France 2’s flagship show, Affaire Conclue, you have probably not missed Julien Cohen and his iconic blue glasses. A recognized French businessman and antiques dealer, he was able, throughout the broadcasts, to bring his expertise to budding second-hand dealers. Today, he offers a new turning point in his career by opening his own restaurant: Le 1815. “After nine months of work, we can’t wait to open the establishment”, he rejoices, at the microphone of theYonne Republican. If, for the moment, the name of the chef is still a mystery, one thing is certain, we can’t wait to sit down there, if only for the history of the place! Moreover, as the owner of the place specifies: “Reservations are already open”. So don’t wait too long!
