O The announcement was made today by India’s Minister of External Affairs, Vinay Kwarta, who indicated that he will do everything to ensure that around 40 Indian citizens who participated in some way in the Russian invasion of Ukraine return home, according to the newspaper The Indian Express.

In recent months, Indian authorities have called on Russia to terminate the contracts of several of its citizens who were recruited by the Russian army to carry out “support work”, even though at least four of them have died in combat.

In May, four people were arrested in India for participating in an alleged human trafficking ring that facilitated this type of hiring.

In addition to India, citizens of other countries have joined the service of the Russian and Ukrainian security and defense forces.

Nepal, where arrests were also made in connection with war recruitment, stopped issuing work permits to its citizens for Russia and Ukraine, after at least ten soldiers were killed in combat, during the Russian invasion that began in February 2022.
