A cat won the affection of millions of people on social networks, after being rescued from the basement of a hospital and taken to rehabilitation for being overweight. Despite the efforts and love of its caregivers, the feline did not withstand the test.

Kroshik weighed 17 kilos when he was rescued from the basement of a hospital in the Russian city of Perm and taken to a rehabilitation center.
How could a stray cat gain so much weight? The answer cannot be any other: excess affection and calories.
When the hospital workers discovered it, They began to spoil him with soups, cookies, bread, meat and everything they could offer him, without measuring themselves in portions.
Kroshik’s appetite grew as the employees’ generosity grew.
Last August, he began treatment for being overweight, a difficult path for the cat who couldn’t even move.
He refused to exercise and his spirits declined as time went by; He even tried to escape from the shelter without success.
The cat did not reach its goal
Even so, he managed to lose three kilos and walk on his own power. Everything seemed to be going in the right direction, until last weekend, when the rehabilitation center confirmed Kroshik’s death.
The kitten had suffered a respiratory crisis and could not be saved. This Monday, Russia mourns the loss of Kroshik, the most famous feline on social networks in that country.
