UA train derailed, on Sunday afternoon, at the entrance to Atocha Station, in Madrid, Spain, forcing the interruption of service on seven lines.
According to the Spanish press, the train, which was connecting Almería-Madrid, was evacuated and there are no reports of injuries among the 37 passengers on board.
The incident led to the closure of several lines and restrictions on routes and severe train delays are expected.
The Spanish Transport Minister, Óscar Puente, reacted to what happened on social media and confirmed that “there were no injuries” and the passengers “will soon be at their destination”.

The accident occurred at 2:24 pm (1:24 pm in Lisbon) and the travelers left the train through the emergency exit. Work continues on site.
