A very cold and easy-to-prepare dessert!

If you don’t have a food processor, prepare them in ice cube trays without dividers. Every thirty minutes, scrape with the help of a metal spatula to break up the ice particles that begin to form on the surface and sides of the molds.

Lemon Granita

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup lemon juice
  • 2 cups (tea) of water
  • 1 cup (tea) sugar
  • 1 cup (tea) fresh cream
  • 1 tablespoon icing sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Preparation Mode

  1. Mix the water and sugar in a pan, place over medium heat, stirring constantly until the syrup starts to boil.
  2. Keep boiling for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, add lemon juice and let cool completely. See below, Mom’s tips.
  4. Transfer the mixture into ice cube trays and place in the freezer until it hardens.
  5. When serving, place the cream, sugar, vanilla in the mixer and beat at medium speed until the mixture begins to thicken.
  6. Reduce speed and continue beating until stiff peaks form. Reserve.
  7. Place the lemon mixture cubes in the processor and blend until reduced to fine grains.
  8. Distribute the granita into individual glasses.
  9. Decorate with whipped cream and serve immediately.

Watermelon Granita

Ingredients

  • 5 cups of watermelon pulp blended in a blender
  • 1 cup (tea) of water
  • ½ cup (tea) sugar
  • 2 tablespoons orange liqueur
  • 1 cup of whipped cream

Orange Granite

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (tea) of orange juice
  • 2 cups (tea) of water
  • ¾ cup (tea) sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

Mom Tips

For the lemon granita recipe: if you prefer, add two tablespoons of chopped mint to the granita.

Place the syrup and mint in the food processor and blend well. Only then add the lemon juice.

¾ cup (tea) of lemon juice = about 5 lemons.

5 cups of watermelon pulp = about 1.5 kg.

1 cup of orange juice = about 4 oranges

Watermelon and orange granitas are prepared like lemon granita.

In watermelon granita; Add the orange liqueur to the syrup after taking it off the heat.

Laranja licorices = Cointreau or Grand Marnier
