Some recipes immediately remind us of childhood. This is the case of flamby, this flan topped with a caramel sauce. Know that this dessert is easily made at home. Moreover, it is even much better for the health of toddlers. A dietician has revealed her secrets for preparing this flan.
The dietitian known on Instagram as @happydiet shared her homemade flamby recipe. The advantage is that by preparing it yourself, the composition is much healthier explains the expert since a single pot of flamby in the industrial version contains: “72.3% 1.1% fat milk, 8.3% sugar, 6% caramel, glucose-fructose syrup, skim milk powder, corn starch, modified corn starch and thickeners”she reports.
Conversely, a homemade flamby is only composed of milk, sugar, vanilla, agar-agar and caramel, which is therefore much better for your health.
So why not try this recipe that appeals to young and old alike.
For 4 jars, you will need:
- 500ml semi-skimmed milk
- 2 g of agar-agar or 3 sheets of gelatin
- 1 vanilla pod or 1 tablespoon vanilla flavoring
- 30g sugar
- 1 tablespoon coconut blossom syrup or maple syrup (you can also make a caramel instead)
- Start by pouring 500ml of milk into a saucepan over medium/high heat. Then add the agar agar (or the gelatin which you will soak for 10 minutes in cold water beforehand).
- Add the scraped vanilla pod and the sugar.
- Then heat until boiling, stirring regularly. Then stop the fire.
- Put 1 tablespoon of coconut blossom syrup at the bottom of the ramekins. Pour over the mixture.
- Finally, leave to cool for 3 hours.
