The fish itself is very good; cod au gratin is even better! Try it!


  • 500 grams of cooked and shredded cod
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 grated carrot
  • 1 box of cream
  • 1 glass of milk
  • 1 French bread soaked in milk
  • Grated parmesan cheese to taste

Preparation Mode

  1. Cook the cod over low heat for 10 minutes.
  2. Drain the water and shred the fish. Reserve.
  3. In a pan, add the olive oil, garlic, onion and carrot.
  4. Saute for 4 minutes, add the cod and sauté for another 3 minutes.
  5. Add the milk, cream and cook for about 10 minutes.
  6. Add the bread and stir until it breaks up.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake at medium temperature for approximately 15 minutes.

Mom Tips

There is commercially available cod already desalted (frozen desalted). Frozen desalted meat is a quality product.
