Brigadeiro is a typical sweet of Brazilian cuisine and already exists in several versions. Try it with coffee!

Ingredients

  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted margarine
  • ½ teaspoon of instant coffee
  • 2 dessert spoons of chocolate powder
  • granulated chocolate

Preparation Mode

  1. In a pan, place the first 4 ingredients and place over low heat.
  2. Stir constantly until it comes off the bottom of the pan.
  3. Remove and place in a deep plate.
  4. Let it cool.
  5. With hands moistened with water, take small portions and form into balls.
  6. Dip them in chocolate sprinkles.
  7. Place them in paper cups.

Mom Tips

Do not moisten your hands with margarine. Whenever necessary, moisten your hands with water and dry them lightly on a paper towel.

You can replace instant coffee with 1/3 cup of strong coffee.

How to get it just right: when the jam thickens, tip the pan a little to check if the jam is coming apart/peeling off naturally from the bottom of the pan. I say detaching/detaching and no oozing. If it is not coming apart, continue stirring a little more (4 to 5 turns with a wooden spoon around the pan) and tip the pan over again to look. For the recipe to be successful, you will have to tip the pan repeatedly and as many times as necessary until you notice that the jam is ready.
