Easy to make and very tasty, this cheese pie cannot be missing from your menu.


  • 2 cups of wheat flour
  • ¾ cup (tea) of butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  • 5 egg whites
  • 5 sifted egg yolks

Ingredients Filling

  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • ¼ kg cream cheese or cottage cheese
  • 1/3 cup (tea) of lemon juice

Ingredients Topping

  • 3 cups (tea) of whipped cream
  • ¼ chocolate shavings
  • Icing sugar

Preparation Mode

  1. In a bowl, place the butter in small pieces, the wheat flour and ½ teaspoon of grated lemon peel.
  2. Add 2 teaspoons of cold water and knead until you get a smooth dough.
  3. Line the bottom and sides of 2 round 22.5 cm diameter cake tins with this dough.
  4. Preheat the oven to 170ºC.
  5. In a mixer, beat the egg whites until stiff, remove and set aside.
  6. In a mixer, beat the egg yolks, cheese, condensed milk and lemon juice for about two minutes.
  7. Add ½ teaspoon of lemon zest and mix well.
  8. Add the beaten egg whites and mix gently.
  9. Pour over pie crust in pan.
  10. Place in the oven and bake for approximately 25 minutes.
  11. Remove from the oven, let cool and then decorate with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
  12. Dust the pie with powdered sugar.

Mom’s Tips

Use butter or margarine at room temperature.

If you prefer, you can add 3 drops of food coloring in the color of your choice to the filling.

When sifting the egg yolks, discard whatever remains in the sieve.

Baking time: insert a knife into the center of each pie and it should come out dry.

Serve as a dessert or snack.
