From weddings to impressive videos: the curiosities left by the solar eclipse on April 8

One day after registration eclipse solar, one of the astronomical spectacles that has aroused the greatest interest, curiosities and particularities continue to be known, ranging from from the video that showed how the Earth was seen darkened from space, massive weddings, to babies who came into the world in the middle of the cosmic spectacle.

The solar eclipse caused a shadow that crossed North America diagonally. The images captured from the International Space Station show the majesty of this phenomenon, which will be repeated in several decades.

Meanwhile, on Earth, many people took advantage of the solar eclipse to get married. Many of them claim that the phenomenon brings changes, good luck and prosperity.

Lying on the ground with protective glasses, using large telescopes and even drinking wine in comfortable chairs for the occasion, citizens celebrated every time the gray clouds parted and granted a few seconds of permission to observe the spectacle.

“Three, two, one,” shouted an attendee counting down to the start of the moment of “totality.”

And there was the Sun, with the Moon completely covering it – like a huge black circle – while its shiny beards escaped from the edges of the circumference. It was 1:32 p.m. local time on Monday, April 8, 2024.

“We wanted to experience the eclipse at Stonehenge II in Texas. We thought it would be really fun. And it was so moving and spectacular. I tried to take pictures with my camera. I cried a little because it’s so beautiful… It was really wonderful,” said Mary Elizabeth Fernández, a 43-year-old librarian, who arrived with her boyfriend.

A few meters away, a group of brothers share drinks and snacks.

“We arrive at the eclipse from three different states. My husband and I come from Illinois. “My sister came from California and my brother and sister-in-law came from South Florida.”said Mary McClintock, a 77-year-old retired teacher.

“We were very happy to see the different stages, even though it was cloudy. And we wanted to be together. And so we thought that even if it is cloudy, we would be happy to be here as a family,” he added.
