Peeling a hard-boiled egg can sometimes be a tedious task. Between the shells that break into small pieces and those that refuse to come off the egg, the operation can quickly become frustrating. Fortunately, there are ingenious techniques for peeling an egg without even touching it. Especially one that turns this chore into child’s play.

The most effective method for peeling an egg without touching it involves using a simple glass jar. A jar of jam can do the trick very well. To start, cook your eggs as usual. Once they are cooked, immediately immerse them in a bath of ice water for at least five minutes to stop the cooking and make it easier to peel off the shell. Next, take a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid and fill it 3/4 full with cold water. Place the hard-boiled egg in the jar, close the lid, then shake vigorously for about ten seconds. The shell will crack and begin to fall away. Open the jar and carefully take out the egg. The shell should come off almost completely in one fell swoop. Clever, right?

Once your eggs are perfectly peeled, it’s time to enjoy them. A fan of classic recipes, try mimosa eggs. Mash the yolks with mayonnaise, mustard and lemon juice, then garnish the whites with this creamy and flavorful mixture. For a fancier option, consider making hard-boiled eggs gratin. Cut them into slices and place them in a gratin dish. Cover them with béchamel sauce, sprinkle with grated cheese and place in the oven until the cheese is golden and melted. Otherwise, you can also incorporate your hard-boiled eggs into a soup or mixed salad, a perfect recipe for the sunny days that have been around the corner for a few days.
