A Mizan agency, held by the Iranian judicial system, indicated today that, after investigating the allegations of 15 political prisoners, the 55th section of the General and Legal Court of Tehran ruled that Washington must pay an amount of 1.091 million dollars for “material damages, moral and punitive” for his support for the regime of the last Iranian monarch, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.

“The United States Government, aware of the inhumane crimes of the Pahlavi dictatorial regime against the Iranian nation, presented the plan to create Savak to the Pahlavi regime”, says the Mizan agency, referring to the national security service and secret police of that period , which US authorities are accused of developing.

According to the court, all the complainants “were arrested by Savak and subjected to inhumane torture for years due to their opposition to the Shah’s regime, as a result of which they suffered serious physical, mental and emotional injuries”.

This sentence joins others issued by Iranian courts against the United States Government or US individuals for crimes allegedly committed against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The most prominent recent case was the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani, former head of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, who died in a US bombing raid in Iraq in 2020.

Last December, an Iranian court ordered Washington and 41 other US institutions and individuals to pay $49.7 billion (46.6 billion euros) for Soleimani’s assassination.

The decisions of the Iranian courts against the United States have only propagandistic results, since Tehran has not received any compensation to date.
