O Israel’s War Cabinet is considering several “painful” retaliation options against Iran, without triggering a regional war. The conclusion came during a meeting called by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli War Cabinet, which took place on Sunday morning.

According to The Times of Israel, which cites Channel 12, the War Cabinet also intends to choose a form of retaliation that will not be blocked by the United States.

Also this Monday, the chief of staff of the Israeli Army, Herzi Halevi, confirmed that the Iranian missile and drone attack “will be the subject of a response”in statements during a visit to the Nevatim air base.

It is recalled that the meeting took place following the attack with drones and missiles launched by Iran against Israel, on Saturday night, which was considered by the spokesman of the Israeli army, Daniel Hagari, as a “serious and dangerous escalation”.

“Iran launched a direct attack against the State of Israel from Iranian soil. We are closely monitoring the killer drones sent by Iran and en route to Israel. This is a serious and dangerous escalation,” Hagari said in a statement .

Tensions between the two countries have risen in recent weeks, following the bombing of the Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1, in which seven members of the Revolutionary Guard and six Syrian citizens died.
