Enjoy the benefits of melon, also in jam.
Ingredients
- 1 kg of melon
- 500 grams of sugar
- 1 glass of water
- 1 glass of brandy
- 1 lemon
Preparation Mode
- Prepare sterilized jars with lids.
- Peel the melon, removing the skin and seeds.
- Cut the melon into small cubes.
- In a bowl, in alternating layers, add half the sugar and the melon.
- The last layer should be sugar.
- Cover the bowl with paper and let it rest in the fridge overnight.
- The next day, place the mixture in a pan with water.
- Bring to cook over medium heat.
- When it starts to boil, remove the foam that forms.
- Stir slowly so as not to crush the melon cubes.
- Let it boil.
- When the melon becomes semi-transparent, the candy is ready.
- Add the zest, lemon juice and brandy.
- Stir again and let it boil for another 15 minutes.
- Place the candy in the prepared jars.
- Store in a cool place.
