  • 1 kg of melon
  • 500 grams of sugar
  • 1 glass of water
  • 1 glass of brandy
  • 1 lemon

Preparation Mode

  1. Prepare sterilized jars with lids.
  2. Peel the melon, removing the skin and seeds.
  3. Cut the melon into small cubes.
  4. In a bowl, in alternating layers, add half the sugar and the melon.
  5. The last layer should be sugar.
  6. Cover the bowl with paper and let it rest in the fridge overnight.
  7. The next day, place the mixture in a pan with water.
  8. Bring to cook over medium heat.
  9. When it starts to boil, remove the foam that forms.
  10. Stir slowly so as not to crush the melon cubes.
  11. Let it boil.
  12. When the melon becomes semi-transparent, the candy is ready.
  13. Add the zest, lemon juice and brandy.
  14. Stir again and let it boil for another 15 minutes.
  15. Place the candy in the prepared jars.
  16. Store in a cool place.
