O The murder of BBC commentator John Hunt’s wife and two daughters has left England and the rest of the world in shock.
The attack happened on Tuesday when Kyle Clifford, 26, attacked the three women, aged 61, 28 and 25, with a crossbow. The suspect fled the scene of the attack in Bushey, Hertfordshire.
The man was found about 24 hours later near a cemetery and authorities captured him in an operation that, according to police, did not involve any exchange of gunfire.
The man, however, was hospitalized and, although his health status was unknown yesterday, authorities reported this Thursday that the suspect is in “Serious condition” – and which has not yet been questioned by the authorities.
BBC commentator receives wave of support
After the victims were identified and the tragedy was ‘linked’ to the public figure’s family, the case gained even more notoriety, and, in the last few hours, several people have shown their solidarity.
BBC sports presenter Mark Chapman said during a broadcast that Hunt was not only a colleague but also “a friend” to everyone who works at the broadcaster. “On behalf of everyone connected to 5 Live Sport, our love, thoughts and support are with John and his family.”Chapman said live.
Dan Walker, who usually presents the BBC programme ‘Football Focus’, also took to social media to show his support in the face of the tragedy. “John Hunt is one of the best and his life was destroyed yesterday”these.
The football was amazing last night and we are so blessed to have brilliant commentators in the UK.
John Hunt is one of the best and his world was ripped apart yesterday when his wife and daughters were murdered.

A producer for the channel, Tim Beach, described Hunt as one of the “kindest” people he had ever worked with.
I’ve always looked up to him so much as a father, hoping that one day I could have a similar relationship with my children when they’re older. We love you Hunty

At a time when the country is celebrating its passage to the Euro’2024 final, stars from the world of football are also paying their respects. “As the country celebrates, take a moment to think about John Hunt. I can’t remember feeling so horrified in a long time. Those girls… It’s truly horrific.”wrote former footballer Michael Owen on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
And while the country celebrate, spare a thought for John Hunt. I can’t remember feeling so utterly horrified in years. Those poor girls. Truly horrific
