If you have recently purchased green asparagus, it is important to check the brand and batch. Indeed, a brand recalled its products following the detection of exceeding the maximum content of chemical contaminant: cadmium.

Cadmium is a heavy metal that can be hazardous to health with prolonged exposure. It is known to be carcinogenic, mutagenic and toxic. Exceeding the authorized limits of this pesticide in food may therefore present a risk to the consumer.

The products affected by this recall are green asparagus tips from the L’Atelier des fruits et vegetables brand. They are packaged in plastic containers and should be stored in the refrigerator. These products were marketed in the Grand Frais stores of the PROSOL group between February 1 and 6, 2024.

Two batches are affected by this recall:

  • The batch with GTIN 28682510000 and batch number 032, whose use-by date is 02/07/2024.
  • The batch with GTIN 286825100000 and batch number 031, whose use-by date is 02/06/2024.

These products are of Peruvian origin and have been sold throughout France.

If you purchased these green asparagus tips, it is recommended that you no longer consume them. For any questions, you can contact the following number: 0632870888.

The compensation terms have not been specified, so it is advisable to inquire directly with the brand’s point of sale or customer service.

It is important to remain vigilant when faced with food product recalls. These procedures are put in place to ensure consumer safety.
