How about trying another type of meat? Mutton is very nutritious and tasty!


  • 1 and ½ kg boneless mutton
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 branch of thyme

Preparation Mode

  1. Prepare the meat by cleaning and joining the parts with string, as if it were a large fillet.
  2. Season the meat with pepper, salt, bay leaves and thyme, passing them under the string.
  3. Let it rest for 1 hour to taste.
  4. Heat the oven at high temperature.
  5. Smear the meat with the butter.
  6. Place the meat on a buttered grill, resting on a baking sheet.
  7. Let it brown well.
  8. Pour 1 cup of boiling water into the pan, turn the meat over and let it brown on the other side.
  9. Turn off the oven and only remove the meat after 5 minutes.
  10. Collect the sauce from the pan and transfer it to a gravy boat.
  11. Serve immediately.

Mom Tips

In good butchers you can buy lamb meat tied in pieces weighing around 600 grams.

If you prefer, replace the thyme with rosemary.

Serve as a main dish.
