The neighboring country of Croatia had already put its emergency services on high alert on Friday afternoon. There was a risk of flooding there too. Border crossing blocked – thousands of vacationers are stuck in traffic

While rescue workers in Austria, Slovenia and Croatia are fighting against the water masses, thousands of holidaymakers are stuck in traffic because of them. The Loiblpass, a popular border crossing between Austria and Slovenia, was closed due to landslides and mudslides. Motorists have to dodge the Karawanken tunnel. Due to the increased volume of traffic, there will be delays there on Saturday.
