With aromatic syrup, this pear dessert is delicious! Serve it very cold!

Ingredients

  • 12 peeled pears, quartered or whole
  • 1 cup (tea) sugar
  • 2 and ½ cups (tea) of water
  • 1 vanilla pod cut in half
  • 1 piece of cinnamon stick
  • 5 star anise
  • 5 cloves

Preparation Mode

  1. In a medium-sized pan (for cut pears) and in a small, high-edged pan (for whole pears) place the last six ingredients.
  2. Cook over low heat until the sugar dissolves well.
  3. Increase the heat, stop stirring and let it caramelize (about 5 minutes).
  4. Add the remaining water, stirring until the caramel melts (about 3 minutes).
  5. Add the pears and let it boil.
  6. Cover, reduce heat and cook until pears are soft.
  7. Using a slotted spoon, carefully collect the pears and transfer them to a baking dish. Reserve.
  8. Over high heat, cook the syrup left in the pan and stir until it thickens (about 5 minutes).
  9. Drizzle the pears with the syrup and let cool.
  10. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
