A US truck driver is hailed as a hero after finding and rescuing a one-year-old boy alive which was abandoned for nearly two days on a Louisiana highway.

Reginald Walton told KADN television that on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, while driving on Interstate 10, He saw in a ditch what he assumed was a doll that someone had thrown, but when he passed by he noticed that it was moving.
The man stopped the truck and walked almost a kilometer back to the ditch. to discover with surprise that what was moving was a baby.
Walton immediately called authorities, who had been searching for the boy since the previous day after the lifeless body of his 4-year-old brother was found in a nearby lake.
Investigators said the two children were last seen on Saturday, July 6, with their mother.Aaliyah Jack, 25, later arrested in Mississippi.
The boy is believed to have been left out in the open for nearly two days and police are considering it a miracle that he survived without food or care for so long.
Walton told the television station that he did not feel like a hero. “I just feel like it was God’s will for me to be in the right place at the right time,” he said.
The mother of both children faces charges of second-degree murder and cruelty.
