Butter is often served at the table with a little bread to wait until the dishes arrive. But for the holidays, why not enhance this simple product to make it much more delicious and tasty? For Christmas dinner, we absolutely want everything to be perfect down to the smallest detail, including the butter. Recently, on the networks we have seen many creators or chefs sharing their way of reworking butter. This is what made us want to take an interest in this much appreciated product in this article.

Today, we decided to show you 3 ways to enhance it very simply to surprise your guests on New Year’s Eve. The advantage? In addition to being very simple to make, these preparations are also economical. So here are those ideas.

Flavored butter

Flavored butter is one of the most classic techniques but it always has its little effect. Please note that in addition to enjoying it on good country bread during end-of-year holiday meals, flavored butter can be used in multiple ways. It is, for example, perfect at the end of cooking on fish or meat or even in a sandwich, buttering slices of bread.

Recently, chef Thibaut Spiwack of the Anona restaurant shared on Instagram 3 ways to enhance his butter : with truffle, orange zest and a final one with herbs (parsley, chives, tarragon).

To make your flavored butter a success, the chef advises in his video to use softened butter, which is already quite soft with a cream texture. You can use unsalted butter or semi-salted butter depending on your preferences.

Chef Christophe also shared his recipe for flavored butter in a 750g video, made in just 1 minute.

In terms of storage, be aware that when you make flavored butter with fresh products such as herbs or peppers, this butter will only keep for 3 to 4 days in the fridge. On the other hand, if you only flavor it with dried herbs or dry products, the flavored butter will keep for around ten days in the fridge without any problem. In all cases, close your container tightly before refrigerating it.

Whipped butter

On social networks, whipped butter is enjoying a certain popularity and for good reason: very light and airy, its whipped cream appearance is very attractive. The advantage? To make it, there is nothing easier!

Simply soften your butter first. Be careful, it must not become liquid. Mix it using a spatula to have a fairly homogeneous preparation and then mix it with a mixer. Little by little, it will thicken and rise to become a very light whipped cream. Then, if you wish, you can flavor it with aromatic herbs for example.

In terms of storage, be aware that if you put it in a cool place, it will harden. So, if it’s not too hot, store it at room temperature for a few days.

Smoked butter

As original as it is surprising, smoked butter turns out to be a good alternative to impress your guests. It will still require a few very specific ingredients unlike the two previous examples. However, contrary to appearances, smoked butter is not that difficult to make. She’s the content creator Sarah_lenormand who shared her preparation on Instagram.

For smoked butter, no need for a smoker. The young woman advises having 2 containers: one with butter and the other with beech sawdust (which can be found on the internet or even in supermarkets like Carrefour). You will burn the sawdust, which will produce smoke. Then, you will put the two containers together under a bell so that the butter soaks up the smoke. You leave some time. Don’t hesitate to taste your butter to test its taste. It shouldn’t be too strong. It’s already ready, you have your smoked butter!
