Humm… with ice cream it’s all good!! So easy to make! Make the carolinas in advance and then just assemble this exquisite and delicious dessert!
Dough Ingredients
- 1 and ½ cups (tea) of wheat flour
- ½ cup (tea) sugar
- ½ cup (tea) oil
- 1 cup (tea) of water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 pinch of salt
- 3 eggs
- Butter for greasing
- Flour for sprinkling
Filling Ingredients
Cream ice cream to taste
Syrup Ingredients
- 1 cup chocolate shavings
- 2 tablespoons of oil
Dough Preparation Method
- Grease a baking tray with butter and sprinkle it with wheat flour.
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
- Place sugar, oil, water and salt in a pan.
- When it boils, always stirring, add the flour all at once until it forms a consistent, smooth dough that comes away from the pan. Remove and let it cool/almost cool.
- Place the dough in a bowl, add the vanilla and eggs one by one, mixing well with a wooden spoon after each addition.
- Stir well until the dough is homogeneous, smooth and shiny.
- Place the dough in a pastry bag and make balls in the pan.
- Bake for approximately 35 minutes or until golden. Remove and reserve.
Syrup Preparation Method
- Place all ingredients in a small pan.
- Place over low heat.
- Stir well until all the chocolate melts. Reserve.
Assembly
- Cut the carolinas in half.
- Fill with ice cream.
- Place them on a platter or individual plates.
- Drizzle with the still hot chocolate syrup.
- Serve immediately.
Mom Tips
Nothing prevents you from substituting cream-flavored ice cream with the flavor of your choice.
If you make the carolinas the night before, store them cold in a sealed container.
