Humm… with ice cream it’s all good!! So easy to make! Make the carolinas in advance and then just assemble this exquisite and delicious dessert!

Dough Ingredients

  • 1 and ½ cups (tea) of wheat flour
  • ½ cup (tea) sugar
  • ½ cup (tea) oil
  • 1 cup (tea) of water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 eggs
  • Butter for greasing
  • Flour for sprinkling

Filling Ingredients

Cream ice cream to taste

Syrup Ingredients

  • 1 cup chocolate shavings
  • 2 tablespoons of oil

Dough Preparation Method

  1. Grease a baking tray with butter and sprinkle it with wheat flour.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
  3. Place sugar, oil, water and salt in a pan.
  4. When it boils, always stirring, add the flour all at once until it forms a consistent, smooth dough that comes away from the pan. Remove and let it cool/almost cool.
  5. Place the dough in a bowl, add the vanilla and eggs one by one, mixing well with a wooden spoon after each addition.
  6. Stir well until the dough is homogeneous, smooth and shiny.
  7. Place the dough in a pastry bag and make balls in the pan.
  8. Bake for approximately 35 minutes or until golden. Remove and reserve.

Syrup Preparation Method

  1. Place all ingredients in a small pan.
  2. Place over low heat.
  3. Stir well until all the chocolate melts. Reserve.

Assembly

  1. Cut the carolinas in half.
  2. Fill with ice cream.
  3. Place them on a platter or individual plates.
  4. Drizzle with the still hot chocolate syrup.
  5. Serve immediately.

Mom Tips

Nothing prevents you from substituting cream-flavored ice cream with the flavor of your choice.

If you make the carolinas the night before, store them cold in a sealed container.
