Ecuadorian Armed Forces helicopter was attacked on the border with Colombia: “It received 9 hits”

Through their official X account, formerly Twitter, the Ecuadorian Armed Forces they revealed that one of its aircraft was hit by rifles while doing a military operation on the border with Colombia. Authorities reported no injuries.

According to the statement, issued this Thursday afternoon, March 14, 2024, the attack on the military helicopter occurred while a reconnaissance overflight was being carried out in the El Derrumbe sector of the San Lorenzo canton in Ecuadorian territory.

“A drug processing laboratory was identified, so airborne military operations of special FF units were intensified. AA. for destruction and capture,” declared the Armed Forces on their X account, in which they published photographs of the helicopter affected by the attack.

The Armed Forces of Ecuador detailed that “The aircraft received nine long-range gunshot wounds. in its fuselage, without compromising the life of the crew and its operation.
