Israel launched an attack against Iran in retaliation for the aggression of the latter country perpetrated last weekend, as reported on the night of this Thursday, April 18, by United States television.

ABC and CBS News reported the attacks early Friday Middle East time, citing US officials. There was no immediate comment from the White House or the Pentagon.
Meanwhile, Iranian state television indicated that ‘Large explosions’ heard near central city of Isfahanwhile a news agency said flights over the capital, Tehran, and other cities were suspended.

“News sources report hearing large explosions in Isfahan province,” state television said, adding that the cause was not immediately clear.

The Mehr news agency reported that “Flights to Tehran, Isfahan and Shiraz, as well as airports in the west, northwest and southwest, have been suspended“.

Israel had warned it would respond after Iran fired hundreds of missiles and drones into Israeli territory over the past weekend. Most of them were intercepted.

That attack followed another attack on Iran’s consulate in Damascus, for which Israel is widely blamed.
