O Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced, this Friday, detained an Odessa resident suspected of passing on information about military bases and the consequences of air strikes on Russia.

According to the SBU, quoted by the Kyiv Independent, the woman would be in contact with a person responsible for the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia, who regularly paid her up to 540 dollars (about 490 euros) in cryptocurrencies for each task.

As the report from that service tells, the FSB needed information to prepare and adjust drone and missile attacks against the city.

The Ukrainian security services detained her when she was spying on a military installation and a search of the suspect’s residence led to the discovery of the cell phones she used to communicate with the head of the FSB.

The woman also confessed to having cooperated with the Russian security services and was accused of treason. She could be sentenced to life in prison.

It is recalled that the Russian forces significantly increased the frequency of their air strikes against the Odessa district following the unilateral termination by Moscow of the agreement on cereals, on 17 July.

In recent weeks, ports, agricultural infrastructure, grain reserves and the UNESCO-listed historic center of Odesa have suffered considerable damage.
