O main adviser to the presidency of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak, considered, this Friday, that Russia is close to losing its strategic positions.

“Russian defense lines are starting to crumble. The Ukrainian army is successfully advancing southwards, moving closer to having control over ‘the corridor to Crimea'”wrote the official in a publication shared on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

Faced with this situation, Podolyak argued that the scenario was very “clear” and that this situation meant that the paths for supplying the Russian army were “at stake”. “This means that the Russian army is on the verge of losing strategic positions,” he concluded.

Faced with this, the presidential adviser noted that Russia was going to bet on another strategy. “We can foresee a doubling of calls for negotiation in the near future (to immediately stop the arms supply) and a doubling of attempts to demoralize Ukraine by third parties to make Ukrainians lose faith in their capabilities”he also wrote, assuring that, however, the Armed Forces of Ukraine “continue to recover what belongs to them”.

The military offensive launched on February 24, 2022 by Russia in Ukraine caused, according to the latest UN data, the worst refugee crisis in Europe since the Second World War (1939-1945).

The Russian invasion – justified by the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, with the need to “denazify” and demilitarize Ukraine for Russia’s security – was condemned by the international community in general, which has responded by sending arms to Ukraine and imposing it on Russia of political and economic sanctions.
