FThe driver of the truck that caused six deaths was arrested in the early hours of this Tuesday, on the AP-4 motorway, in the province of Seville, in the Andalusia region, in Spain.

The man, who was not injured, was detained without bail on six counts of involuntary manslaughter and three counts of grievous bodily harm.

The driver of the heavy vehicle allegedly bypassed a Guardia Civil operation and rammed cars.

For now, an investigation is underway to determine whether the driver may have fallen asleep, as he presented negative results in alcohol and drug tests, according to the Civil Guard.

It should be remembered that two of the six dead were Guardia Civil agents and there were also three seriously injured, also agents, reports Rádio Canal Sur. The other four people who lost their lives did not belong to Benemérita.

The accident occurred at around 4:40 am (local time), with the emergency services, the judicial commission and an investigation team from the Guardia Civil going to the scene of the incident.

The civil guards who died were around 30 years old and belonged to a group specialized in combating drug trafficking in Campo de Gibraltar, Andalusian public radio also revealed.
