Ingredients
- 6 oranges
- ½ cup (tea) of apricot jam
- ½ cup (tea) of confectioner’s sugar
- ½ cup (tea) of sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 egg whites
Preparation Mode
- Clean the oranges.
- Remove the top from each orange.
- If you prefer to use the orange peels, coat them in powdered sugar and place in the freezer.
- Carefully remove the pulp from the oranges and squeeze, saving the juice.
- Fill the oranges with 1 tablespoon of apricot jam.
- Refrigerate.
- Prepare the ice cream by mixing the orange juice, lemon juice, sugar and 1 cup (tea) of water well.
- Bring to a boil and let it boil until you get a thick syrup.
- Beat the egg whites until stiff, add them to the hot syrup, little by little, without stopping beating, until you get a cream.
- Put it in the freezer.
- Stir a few times so that it freezes evenly.
- Assemble the dish, filling the oranges with ice cream.
- Put the lid on and serve immediately.
Mom’s Tips
It can be served with or without the orange tops previously prepared.
Serve as a dessert.
