Learn how to make a delicious and very easy to prepare shrimp snack!

Ingredients

  • 600 grams of shrimp, shelled but with the syrup
  • 1 crushed garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon (coffee) of powdered bay leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 360 grams of wheat flour
  • 60 grams of cooking margarine
  • 720 ml boiling water
  • 400 grams of cream cheese
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Oil

Preparation Mode

  1. Season the shrimp with salt, garlic and bay leaf.
  2. Cook the shrimp in the water for 5 minutes, or until they turn pink.
  3. Remove the shrimp. Set aside.
  4. In the cooking water, add the margarine and bring to the boil.
  5. Add the wheat flour all at once and stir vigorously until it comes away from the pan.
  6. Remove and let the dough cool.
  7. Knead the dough well so that it is smooth to work with.
  8. Open a small portion of dough, fill it with a small portion of cheese and a shrimp with the tail facing out.
  9. Dip in beaten eggs and then in breadcrumbs.
  10. Fry slowly in hot oil.
  11. Place on paper towels.
  12. Remove, place on a serving dish and serve while still hot.

Mom’s Tips

Do not overcook the shrimp or they will become rubbery.

In good supermarkets you can find cooking margarine and powdered bay leaves.

Use natural breadcrumbs and not the industrialized kind. You can find them at bakery counters.
