Google Maps image helped clarify mysterious murder in Spain

The well-known images it offers Google Street Viewa Google Maps tool that allows you to view and explore any place in the world in 360 degrees, were key to capturing two suspects who would be related to the disappearance of a 33-year-old Cuban in Spain.

And, as the Spanish authorities announced, this image served as a clue to the arrest of both subjects, nearly a year after the man, whose identity has never been revealed, disappeared after traveling to the province of Tajueco to visit a woman with whom he had a relationship.

The arrests were carried out in the municipality of Soria, Spain, during the previous month. In that place, two people were captured who, according to investigators, were a couple and would have to do with the disappearance of the victim, since the detained woman, at the time, was the one who appeared as the romantic partner of the murdered man.

The local police said that those captured would be “alleged perpetrators of a crime of aggravated illegal detention” and are already carrying out the corresponding procedure to find out if they are guilty.

Who was the Cuban man who disappeared in Spain in 2023?

Some time later, the authorities found in a cemetery in Soria human remains of what, apparently, would have been the body of the victim they were looking for, who disappeared in November 2023 according to a relative.

The missing Cuban was not identified and could only be referred to by the initials of his name, JJPO. Although the results of the investigation have not yet been presented to find out whose body was found, the authorities have already begun to check the homes and inspect vehicles and other properties of the detainees.

What appeared in the Google Street View image that helped solve a murder in Spain?

The investigation took a turn when, thanks to Google Street Viewan image of the place where the victim would have disappeared was discovered. In it, a man is seen keeping a large white bag in the trunk of a red car in which, apparently, there could be a body.

According to a recent statement from the Police that has the case, this was one of the clues that helped investigators find these people.

“One of the clues that the investigators had to solve the crime, without being decisive, were some images that they detected during the investigations” reads part of it.
