Cooking is not always complicated, far from it! Indeed, there are many very simple recipes to enjoy with the least effort. Among our simplest dishes, we think of stews which, although they require a long cooking time, are actually very easy to make.

On his Instagram account, valeriezermati offers a recipe with, according to her, “the easiest meat in the world”. Mini effort but made “wow”, his signature dish uses very inexpensive meat: chuck! With its mild flavor and its long cooking in its juice which gives it a braised side, it is difficult to resist. Find out how to reproduce this preparation, directly at home!

For this recipe, start by browning the piece of chuck meat in a pan. To give it more flavor, you can add 1 or 2 large whole onions, spices like pepper, sweet paprika, bay leaf and oregano, but also a few whole cloves of garlic. When the meat is well seared on both sides, cover with water, add a lid and simmer over medium heat for 2 to 3 hours. This long cooking will allow the meat to cook well, to release all its flavors, but also to then delicately fall apart when eaten. To check the cooking, nothing could be simpler: prick the meat with a large fork: if it sinks in without resistance, “like in butter”, explains the content creator, it’s ready!

To avoid excess water in the pan, reduce the sauce by removing the lid and increasing the heat. After 15/20 minutes, it will take on a thicker consistency and the meat is perfectly cooked. Add a little salt at the end of cooking then a light drizzle of olive oil. All you have to do is dress your tender meat with the accompaniments of your choice.

Please note, this meat cannot be cut into slices. “It’s more of a meat to cut with a spoon because it’s so soft,” explains the content creator.

This tasty and flavorful meat is wonderfully served with any type of accompaniment: seasonal vegetables (pan-fried, roasted or mashed), starchy foods (pasta, rice, wheat or even polenta), potatoes in all its forms …There is no shortage of ideas!

You can also use this shredded meat as a filling for many sandwiches and other seasonal dishes. Indeed, it lends itself to exercise and can be added with pleasure as the base of a shepherd’s pie, in puff pastries to serve as an aperitif or starter or even slipped into a goulash-type soup for a satisfying meal. Perfect for winter!
