Through Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB).

According to official data, around 2,400 people were arrested after the elections, a figure higher than that of the Penal Forum, since the NGO excludes those who it considers have committed a crime, as well as detainees not reported by family members and those who do not have authorization to include.

Lawyer Gonzalo Himiob, vice president of the NGO, told EFE that the organization still does not have a complete number of released prisoners, since – he explained – although the Prosecutor’s Office reported on 956 releases, it has not published a list with names and surnames, so the Penal Forum has not been able to verify this number in its entirety.
