Located in the 6th arrondissement of Lyon, the restaurant La Mutinerie has announced its closure on June 29, 2024, less than a year after obtaining its first star in the Michelin Guide. At the head of this kitchen, we find Nicolas Seibold, former candidate for the show Top Chef season 7 who had cut his teeth in very beautiful establishments like Le Negresco or La Dame de Pic before opening his own establishment.

Announced this Wednesday, April 17 on the restaurant’s Instagram page, the news surprised more than one customer. Indeed, as Progrès reports, this decision is surprising because the “reservation book exploded” explained the chef during a recent interview.

The place – the only Lyon restaurant to have been rewarded by the Guide in 2023 – offered its customers a wide choice of dishes prepared and designed with seasonal products: snail ravioli and mushroom broth, candied arctic char… Composed according to the desires of the former candidate of the culinary program, the surprise menu at 144 euros notably gave pride of place to “modern, creative and plant-based cuisine”.

According to Le Progrès, which was able to speak with the chef since the announcement on social networks, Nicolas Seibold does not intend to hang up his cooking apron right away. Indeed, according to the Lyon media, the former candidate of the culinary program originally from the South of France would have projects in his native region. The latter will therefore be at the origin of his decision to leave Lyon.

For the leader, it is therefore the end of an adventure, but as he assures, a “new page is being written for the mutineers” with “respective projects”. If you would like to discover the chef’s cuisine before closing, please note that “reservations are open until our last service, Saturday June 29”.
