The transalpine guide 50 Top Italy has revealed its ranking of the best Italian restaurants in the world. Originally, this guide was created in 2017 by food journalists Albert Sapere, Barbara Guerra and Luciano Pignataro to rank the best pizzerias in the world. Since 2019, the guide has also ranked the best Italian restaurants in the world, outside Italian borders. For the second time, it is a Parisian establishment which is at the top of the 2024 ranking. This is the restaurant Le Carpaccio, located in the Royal Monceau palace, run by chefs Alessandra Del Favero and Olivier Piras since October 2021. The establishment’s menu features Italian specialties including signature dishes such as beef carpaccio, Caesar sauce, crispy amaranth and truffle, Milanese veal chop and Da Vittorio paccheri.
This is not the only French restaurant that shone in the ranking since five other establishments, all located in Paris, have a place in the top 50. In 20th position, there is the Caffè Stern of the Alajmo brothers followed by the Tosca restaurant in 27th place. The Cucina Mutualité establishment by Alain Ducasse climbs to 46th place, Maison Ruggieri takes 48th position. Finally, the Passerini restaurant, ranked first in 2019, is placed in 49th position.
